Floyd Landis

On August 8, 2006, I sent a registered letter to Floyd Landis, the noted cyclist of international fame who has become embroiled in a controversy regarding “evidence’ found in his system suggesting the use of illegal chemicals. When I saw his interviews on various television shows, I was disappointed in that he did not come across convincingly. I am not saying he was lying, but I am only suggesting his lack of ease and experience in front of a camera or other media. “It just did not read right.” With that in mind, I sent him a registered letter offering to meet with him and to comment after the meeting on the mental impressions that I picked up from him.

We received a call from a representative of his assuring us that the letter would be given to Mr. Landis. We awaited a response and Yours Truly never received one.

Sports writers started to remind their readers that Yours Truly made the same offer to O.J. Simpson. The response was dead silence by him and his people.

I could only describe Mr. Landis’ lack of response as an example of the O.J. Simpson Syndrome.
