The Amazing Kreskin has come to the defence of a Florida principal who was fired after three students he hypnotized died shortly after.
“This man has been railroaded,” Kreskin said of Dr. George Kenney, the Sarasota County High School principal who was forced out in 2012. Earlier this month, the school board agreed to pay $600,000 to the three families whose children died — two by suicide, one in a car crash — after Kenney hypnotized them as treatment for stress and concentration problems.
Kreskin, 80, says putting the blame on the principal’s hypnotic sessions is a crime: hypnotism doesn’t even exist.
For decades, the famous mentalist has offered a $100,000 reward to anyone who can prove the existence of a hypnotic trance.
“He caused no one’s death through hypnosis because he never put anyone in a ‘hypnotic trance.’ He never did, it’s just not possible,” Kreskin said in a media release.
He said if the case ever went to court, it would never stand up, and offered to testify on Kenney’s behalf if he chooses to fight the accusations.
“No one should go through life having others believe that they caused three suicides when they are truly innocent. That is a burden I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy,” Kreskin says in the release.
